PortAventura World Halloween 2019

When it all kicks off:

The Halloween theme in Port Aventura starts on the 21st of September and continues through till the 17th of November 2019.

Personally it is our favourite time of the year to visit this fantastic theme park. The weather is ideal to stroll around the park, temperatures are normally around 20 degrees during the daytime but gets a little chilly at night. Best to bring at jacket if you are intending staying until closing time.

What to expect:

There is so much do in the park from Halloween shows to the nightly parade, followed by a firework display.

Daily there is Halloween themed characters like the murderous sheriff and the master vampire wandering through the park.

The characters often blend into the crowd and jump out to give you the real fright factor and laughs. They often wander around the Far West area of the park, be prepared to see them at any time or place!

The Adams family regularly pass by in their wonderfully bright coloured car and often stop for photos. There is something to do for all the family.

For over 18’s there are walk through areas like the REC zombie epidemic. Rec is based on the notorious Spanish horror movie of the same name. Here you can live the nightmare as its brought to life and lots more. Chills are guaranteed.

LaSelva del Miedo in Mediterrania is another walk through that is brought to life at night time. Filled with frights.

Younger children can help a master pumpkin sculptor in SesamoAventura in the park and meet the special characters Grover, Elmo, Cookie Monster, Bert, Ernie and Zoe at the family festival while they dance, put on shows and sing songs.

The final show of the day is Horror en el Lago ( Horror on the Lake ). Horror en el Lago is followed by stunts on jet skis as the fireworks are being displayed. It is an amazing experience not to be forgotten.

I did not think it was possible but Halloween in Port Aventura gets better every year. From the striking decorations with pumpkins galore, shows for all the family and characters roaming the park, there is so much to do and see with so many photo opportunities, it does not disappoint.

There are various terrifying walk through for the brave including REC in the Polynesia section of the park, Apocalypses Maya in the Mexico area or Horror in Texas in Far West.

Also this year there is a new 1 km walk through passage of terror called La Isla Maldita located in the water park Caribe. There is an additional fee for the Halloween walk through in the park. There is a useful Port Aventura App to help you find your way around the park and once inside it will tell you the waiting times for each ride.

We went to see as many shows that we could cram into our 2 days in the park including Vampires and Bang Bang Halloween which are both located in Far West and Halloween Kingdom located in China. The show times vary so if you are visiting any time of the year not just Halloween don’t forget to pick up your free guide at the entrance.
