Port Aventura Salou

Port Aventura in Salou is one of the biggest theme parks in Europe. It is a ten minute walk from the centre of Salou and is also accessible by public transport for a couple of euros. It is open from Easter through to December and has special events at Halloween and Christmas. Opening hours are from 10am through to the midnight parade and firework show every night. Special evening throughout summer are "White Nights" where you can enjoy the nightlife in the theme park until 1am. The park itself is divided in to different themes. There is Mediterranean where you can walk through and enjoy the atmosphere as if you were in France or Italy and the whitewash houses make the whole place feel authentic. There are restaurants and cafes where you can dine alfresco sampling some of the beautiful Mediterranean dishes washing it down with a delicious house wine. After lunch you can sit and watch the world go by or take a leisurely stroll through the attractions before taking them on. Next there is China, where one again the authenticity is amazing and of course the food is also authentic. There are souvenir shops that sell Chinese good luck charms and clothing. We then move on to the Wild West. Here it is like taking a step back in time. Your expecting john Wayne to walk around the corner, There are live bands playing in some of the eateries where racks of ribs and sides of beef are served daily. Come down to the local saloon and watch the dancers do there stuff or why not visit the Wild west show and see the amazing stunt actors show you how the west was won. A great family atmosphere and the chance to have a family portrait dresses up in western clothes and pool like the Ingles family from Little House on the Prairie. Moving on, we go to Bora Bora. This is where you will see hula dancers on the beach dancing to the sounds of Bora Bora. Sounds echoing throughout the hidden speakers in the greenery surrounding the area makes you feel as though you are really there adding to the authenticity of your experience. For the younger members of the family we move on to Sesame street where the children can run wild while you relax and watch the fun they are having.
